QTVR controller movie

Okay, spinControl:VR has been through lots of changes, code tweaks, and a complete rewrite—maybe now it’s really near to being version 1.0 smile

Ironically, if this is the correct use of irony, it may also be at a point where it’s complete—that is, spinControl:VR by itself is at an end. Ohhhh, but I have plans, yes, plans. wink

Cheers!

Patrick

I recently took part in the World Wide Panorama, which has just gone “live” today—as everybody’s well aware, I’m sure! smile

I’ve been using QuickTime intermovie communication for a long time, having a “controller” movie pan/tilt a QTVR embedded in the same page—I created a color-customizable one, and donated it to the WWP folks, and it’s being used to control the fullscreen QTVRs on their site.

In the spirit of the World Wide Collaboration going on, I’ve made this controller freely available to anyone interested. Embed it in a Web page, and it can control just about any QTVR around. Enjoy!

(of course, controller aside, the World Wide Panorama is definitely worth a look-see)

IVRPA exhibition @ Panorama Mesdag

The Panorama Mesdag museum is hosting an exhibition of the IVRPA print exhibition as featured on Photokina last year:
http://www.panorama-mesdag.nl/ex-ivrpa05_en.php

Update: For those unable to attend the exhibition, here are two panoramas I took last weekend:
The first room has a number of prints by Jan van der Woning, and two of mine.
The main room has most of the member panoramas.
There’s a third part of the exhibit in the darkened hallway leading back to the exhibit rooms that has a couple more prints, but I didn’t take a pan there…

The same museum also hosted the IQTVRA two years ago:
http://www.panorama-mesdag.nl/ex-iqtvra_en.php
Here are three panos I took at that exhibition:

(two of them feature Panorama-celebrity Joost Nieuwenhuijse)

Quicktime Parser

I have released an open source server side quicktime parser to support the Quicktime VR format in SPi-V. Currently requires PHP and Apache, but more server environments should be added sooner or later.

Display any of your (cubic, jpeg compressed) quicktime vr panoramas in SPi-V!

PS: if anyone wants to take my script and use it to enhance ptviewer’s quicktime parsing, be my guest

europano wants to link your blog!

thanks to Matthias T.’s idea we have now a new part on our website, in the left column. Here I can add a link to your blogs (latest 2 entries, if this gets a very long list I might have to limit to your latest entry).

I think this is very interesting for everybody who runs a blog that produces an rss_2.0 feed. Please send me the link to your rss output and I add your site here! Thank you! - Tilman

One thought

Just one thought: Wouldn’t it be nice to have all blogs of European panographers here integrated in this blog?
There should be tools yet to do that? So the use and usage statistics of this site would increase…
